Los Haitises National Park is one of the Dominican Republic's main ecological attractions.

A magical place that transports us back to the time of the dinosaurs, it's also where important scenes from the movie Jurassic Park were filmed.

The park is made up of karst formations (rocky terrain), tropical limestone hills characteristic of these climatic zones. Its landscape features hills, corridors, and valleys. This unique park boasts a dense coastal rainforest located on the southern side of Samaná Bay and is a vast reserve filled with caves, Taíno pictographs, rainforests, and hundreds of bird species, many of them endemic.

We begin our tour at Cayo Los Pájaros (Bird Cay), where we'll observe the breeding grounds of the birds that inhabit the reserve. Depending on the time of year, we may see many of the chicks being fed by their parents. We continue to "Boca de Tiburón" (Shark's Mouth), a cay that boasts stalactite formations, sculpted over time in this humid region. Then we navigate through the mangrove channels, observing the different types of endangered mangroves and the native flora found in the park.

Next, we enter the area known as the "Humid Forest," where you will experience firsthand the silence of nature, momentarily broken by the songs of the birds that call this area their secured home.

During our trip, we will also visit several natural caves known as San Gabriel, "La Línea," and "La Arena," where you will find indigenous art painted on the cave walls and imagine the many activities that took place in these caves centuries ago.

After exploring Los Haitises National Park, we will head east to Cayo Levantado Island (also known as Bacardi Island), where you will enjoy a delicious Dominican buffet lunch featuring a selection of regional cuisine.

You can also purchase alcoholic beverages from local vendors, such as piña coladas, fruit punch, or Presidente beer, which are not included in the tour price.
After lunch, we'll enjoy the turquoise waters and white sands of Cayo Levantado and relax in a lounge chair on the beach under the warm Samaná sun or in the pleasant shade of the abundant coconut palms. At the end of the day, around 4:30 PM, we'll return to the port of Samana aboard our catamaran.

Throughout the tour, you'll be accompanied by one of our experienced, multilingual guides who will help make your adventure an unforgettable experience.
